It seems that, for tomorrow at least, the weather has beaten us. We are postponing both the WOW bike ride and the Macmillan Coffee Morning until Friday 12th October (to be confirmed subject to the weather!).
The good thing is that it gives the children longer to collect sponsorship!
Best wishes, and our thoughts go out to all those families who have been affected by the floods.
School is OPEN as usual today for those able and willing to brave the flood-induced disruptions.
However, please note the latest information from the York Press:
The following roads in York will remain closed/restricted this morning:

- St George’s Field and Esplanade Car Parks are also closed.

The following bus services are being diverted:

- No. 4 via Piccadilly
- No. 3 Askham Bar Park&Ride, terminating at the station
- Arriva 42 is operating between Selby and Cawood only
- Passengers going from York towards Selby should use service 415, but buses are unable to serve Stillingfleet or Naburn

- Harrogate Coach Travel say Acaster Malbis is impassable on route 21

Due to many local road closures, school is allowing children to be collected early for any parent who would like to leave York before the local floods rise further.
School will remain staffed until all children are collected. This will be at least the usual school end-of-day for those parents who are unable to collect children early.
Updates on local flooding can be found at York Press: http://www.yorkpress.co.uk/news/9949264.Flooding___Day_2/?ref=mr
TONIGHTS EXTRAORDINARY ASSOCIATION MEETING WILL GO AHEAD
For those unable to attend, this meeting will now be repeated, provisionally on next Wednesday (3rd October). Further information on the repeat meeting to follow.
The school is hosting a Coffee Morning on Friday 12th October – rearranged date due to floods – (yes it is WOW cycle ride that day!), for Macmillan Cancer Support, as part of their World’s Biggest Coffee Morning.
Please pop in to our cafe between 9.00 – 11.00am – you will be more than welcome!
We’re sure everyone will know someone who has been affected, directly or indirectly, by this dreadful illness and will know what a wonderful support Macmillan Nurses and staff are.
Also…..if anyone (or lots of you) could find the time to make a cake for this fundraising event, we would be so grateful. Please let Gill know if you can, either by popping into the office or at firstname.lastname@example.org.
There will be no charge for the refreshments, but there will be a Macmillan donation box. Even if you can’t come, any donation will be gratefully received.
We look forward to seeing you there!
There will be an Association Meeting on Wednesday 26th September at 7.30pm in the Eurythmy Room, to which you are all warmly invited.
None of us are immune to the global economic climate, and we find ourselves facing significant changes in the financial life of the School. There will be considerable challenges to overcome in the year ahead.
Please join us at the Association Meeting, when we will be able to discuss the financial situation with which we are confronted, and to help us find our solutions.
We look forward to seeing you there.

Autumn Term begins, and class 3 parents have already started planning for the Advent Fair.
This year the fair will take place on Saturday November 24th.
You may soon see requests for help in organizing various parts of the fair so, as a little reminder of the magic we create twice a year, here is a video of the Wishing Grotto from the Spring Fair 2012.
Thanks to Dee Nuttall for making the video, and to all the parents who helped with the fair!
The term dates for the school year 2012-13 are now available as a pdf to dowload here – Term Dates 2012-2013
