A Play in a Week! Class 7 presents A Christmas Carol

28.11.2017

A Play in a Week!

Class 7 – who like a challenge – are endeavouring to put on a play in a week:
A Christmas Carol

Well, strictly speaking, two weeks – since they will be spending one week WRITING THE SCRIPT before they spend the second week PRODUCING THE PLAY.

The script will be written (with a little help from Mr. Charles Dickens!) and lines will be learnt by the end of the first week. The following week will be spent rehearsing and staging. The children will be responsible for finding costumes and props and stage managing the performances.
It will, undoubtedly, be a little raw around the edges but will have energy, creativity and enthusiasm and will be a night of drama, song and dance to remember!

Friday 8th & Saturday 9th December 2017 7.00pm At York Steiner School

PLEASE SUPPORT THIS GALLANT (and slightly crazy!) VENTURE!

Martinmas – Lanterns & Sharing

05.11.2017

As the autumn evenings are getting darker we celebrate Martinmas with a lantern walk. All children from kindergarten to class 8 are making their own lanterns for this occasion.

Celebrating the festival of St Martin who shared his cloak with a beggar, we are also remembering refugees around the world in need of warmth, hope and compassion. As part of the gesture of sharing, we would like to send a donation to those arriving in unfamiliar places with nothing, or those waiting in the cold for the help that they need. This year we would like to send unused socks, gloves and hats to help keep them warm.
