Class 1 and King Winter

Class 1 has been reciting seasonal poetry about ‘King Winter’ and the frozen nature they see all around them.
In The Wood
Cold winter’s in the wood I saw him pass Crinkling up falling leaves
Along the grass
Bleak winter’s in the wood, The birds have flown Leaving the naked trees Shivering alone.
King Winter’s in the wood, I saw him go Crowned with a coronet Of Crystal snow.
The children observed magnified pictures of snowflakes to learn their basic form – hexagonal, with six arms – and then subsequently painted their own snowflakes with blue watercolour paint over white crayon.
