The last two weeks have seen our School community raise money for good causes:
We hosted a Macmillan Coffee Morning in Our Little Shop & Community Space, raising over £240 for Macmillan’s vital cancer support work.
Many thanks to all who baked, ate, had coffee and donated and a special thanks to Class 1 parent Francesca who organised it all!
The children on the other hand put their energies into a sponsored bike ride in aid of WOW – Waldorf One World. Money raised helps Waldorf / Steiner communities around the globe.
Each Class brings a greater challenge, from Class 1, still on foot, heading to Rowntree Park, to Class 8 who cycle all the way to Selby and back!
York Steiner School Open day is the perfect opportunity to visit and explore the Early Years department and the classrooms, and meet our staff.
Kindergarten teachers will be on hand to talk about the structure of the kindergarten while your child has the chance to play, exploring the toys and space available. There will also be an opportunity to find out more about Classes 1 – 8 (rising 7 to 14) with school tours led by class teachers.
Saturday, 10th November 10:00 – 12:00
We have a number of job opportunities this year, please have a look here:
Dig out your children’s plimsoles, wellies and waterproofs, the new school year is nearly upon us!
Gentle Beginnings and Parent & Child Groups are also starting again and looking for new families to join us:
Parent and Toddler groups cater for children up to 3½ years and their parents, and often grandparents or other carers too. We come together for a peaceful, relaxing time in a friendly and supportive environment, where our imaginations can be free and where we enjoy each others company. Groups run every weekday morning, from 9.30 until around 11.45 am and also on Wednesday afternoons from 1:30 to 3:30.
All groups are run by highly experienced members of our Early Years staff.
We have free spaces this September, if you are interested in a free taster session please contact the school office. (01904 654983)
We’ve had a lovely End of Term Festival and a beautiful display of some of the handwork pieces made this term, from Class 1’s knitted rainbow balls to Class 8’s costumes made for their Class Play:
