Our Community and Ethos

A healthy social life…

…is found when in the mirror of each soul, the whole community finds its reflection, and when, in the whole community, the virtue of each one is living.

Rudolph Steiner.

Community is at our core; it is an essential part of a Steiner Waldorf education and the heartbeat of our school.

Our school community is made up of parents, carers, students, teachers, staff and our alumni and friends. When we come together to achieve a shared ambition, we teach our children how to roll up their sleeves and get involved, to recognise the value that every one of us brings to the task and share the joy of a job well done; be it hosting our fabulous fairs, renovating our woodland playgrounds or painting the classroom.

A sense of belonging helps children feel at home

Parental involvement is part of the educational model at a Steiner Waldorf school. At our school, you will experience a closer relationship with your child’s education than it is possible to have in other schools.

There are so many ways to be involved in our community, and they all work to create a sense of shared ownership and belonging that helps our children feel properly at home and welcome in our school.

Teacher and parents working together

At our school, teachers and parents work together to create the best possible learning environment for the students. This includes caring for the classroom environment, supporting on class trips, hosting festivals and so on.

  • “At our heart, we are hands on people, used to hard work and achieving things. People are passionate about what we stand for: an inclusive education that values all the ways individuals can contribute to society, with a love of learning at its core.”
