Our Class 10 students are aged 15–16 years old. Last week, they completed their GCSE exams and yesterday, they showcased their incredible work at our first-ever Class 10 Art, Craft and Design exhibition.
Throughout their studies, our Class Ten students have been assessed as they work, with in-depth portfolio work that truly allows all their strengths and interests to shine.
As well as taking their GCSEs in Maths and English, they also took the Crossfields Level 2 Integrative Education Extended Diploma. The Crossfields diploma is worth 5+ GCSEs, depending on the number of modules taken. The Crossfields curriculum includes textiles, woodwork and art. The exhibition showcased the beautiful and interesting work they have produced across these three departments. The exhibition in the Eurythmy Room was a colourful, beautifully presented, and detailed showcase of the incredible work the students had done, with the class on hand to talk about their creations to a constant stream of parents, staff and visitors. One parent said,
I walked around in awe, so impressed by the work on show, with the added bonus of being able to speak to the students about the inspiration and thought behind their work. All the evidence clearly pointed to the opportunity for them to shine and express themselves as individuals, as well as the strength and diversity of the education they have gained from the school.
