Person knitting purple yarn with wooden knitting needles

CLASS 1

Ages 6-7

In Class One, aged 6 the children are held as a new class group by a specialist teacher. They form strong bonds and learn good habits to support them in a new and more formal, classroom environment. They learn letters and start to read, discovering the world of numbers, and develop dexterity by knitting, crafting and art.  They are introduced to academic concepts through fairy tales, nature stories and travellers’ tales.

“I learnt to read this year. Now I can help my Daddy read signposts and help other children learn how to read”.
