CLASS 4
Ages 9-10
By Class Four, children are ready to explore. The year begins with the excitement of the Norse Myths. These riveting stories contain complex characters who are neither all good nor all evil and can help children explore the human condition as they begin to look at adults with a more critical eye. History and geography explore our York through the ages, from pre-Roman times through the Vikings, Normans, Tudors and beyond. Maths develops into the world of fractions while one of the most-loved lesson blocks covers extensive animal projects. Children learn the specialisations, writing about diverse creatures of their choice.
“We all learnt about animals and got to pick one to research. We also made paper from Himalayan balsam we picked from the river.”
